Hout Bay, Cape Town

The brick work of the party walls between the 68 apartments gently swing into double conoid twists about half way along, with a shelf at waist height for a vase of red roses or a desert crystal. This is but one of this building’s unique features. It’s not something we had to do; we chose to make this difference. It’s a large building designed to look much smaller than it is. It gives you a sense of fitting into its neighbourhood, of being human scaled, of being a friendly presence for everyone. The people living here are happy that care was taken to make it a place they can call home.
